STAFF DIRECTOR

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for day-to-day operations of The Learning Connection, implementation of the curriculum, and the continuing education, training, and development of the staff.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with an emphasis in a child related field OR
  • Have at least three years of full-time teaching experience with young children AND
  • Have at least two years of experience in a staff supervisory role.
  • Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to staff and parents.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage staff.
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for overseeing the curriculum, materials management, and general supervision of the programs. Must be able to comfortably step into the Director’s role in the absence of the Director.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Must meet one of the requirements for Program Director as set forth by the Virginia DSS.
  • Must have at least two years of full-time teaching experience with young children.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in a staff supervisory role.
  • Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to staff and parents.
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.

LEAD TEACHER

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily management and supervision of a classroom. Oversee the curriculum, materials management, and general supervision of the classroom.

  • Must have one year full-time teaching experience with young children.
  • Must have the ability to plan and follow through on age-appropriate activities according to the TLC curriculum.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage staff as well as a classroom and the curriculum.
  • Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to staff and parents.
  • Must be CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • Must be First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.

TEACHER

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily management and supervision of a classroom.

  • Must have the ability to effectively manage a classroom and the curriculum.
  • Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to staff and parents.
  • Must be CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • Must be First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.

ASSISTANT TEACHER

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assisting the teacher in the daily management and supervision of a classroom.

  • Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to staff and parents.
  • Must be CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • Must be First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.

CLASSROOM AIDE

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assisting the teachers and assistant teachers.

  • Must be CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • Must be First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.

COOK/KITCHEN MANAGER

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all aspects of kitchen management, including maintaining a safe and healthy kitchen, daily preparation of the morning snack, lunch, and the afternoon snack, and maintaining the kitchen inventory.

  • Must have Serve SafeĀ® or equivalent certification or obtain certification within three months of hire date.
  • Must be CPR certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
  • Must be First Aid certified or able to obtain certification within two months of hire date.
